Location was marvellous, our room had absolutely fabulous views. We were given a deluxe king room on arrival, it was terrific. There was delicious food, the staff was lovely. The service was nice, the breakfast was nice. The pool was great and there was a great restaurant on site...

Awesome family stay!
The location was super convenient, right near everything we wanted to see. The room was spacious with a nice double queen setup, and the kids loved the pool area, despite it being a bit chilly. The in-room breakfast was a nice touch, perfect for mornings. Just wish the bathroom stuff was set up for more than two guests.

We liked its close proximity to the Washington Mall. We liked the Sou Wester Restaurant the most because of the Chef, Manager Jenifer, staff, waitors, and waitresses. They were the most professional and accomodating and proficient. They get 5 Stars!
What I did not like about the mo, in D.C.: The Feng Shui is off, the lobby, entrance, lounge, wait area, and is uncomfortable. The management should bring in a Feng Shui professional and they will pick this up right away. The lobby, bar, lounge is not inviting and the chi flow is blocked. Also, City Zen, is noisier than the us Airways Terminal. I found the terminal atmosphere way more Zen, than City Zen. The staff is so uptight, it really does not project a friendliness to the persons dinning. It was so noisy, it was more like a roar! City Zen, "Just ain't all that"! It could be so much more! On a scale of 1-10, the experience was 5. Sue Wester far surpased City Zen. And when I complained to my waitor and manager of the ear piercing laughter coming from the bar area, the response was an arrogant annoyance rather than one of concern. In fact your star chef came out at least 3 times to see who was laughing like that. A two hour dinner was disturbed by two hours of piercing laughter by some woman at the bar. Really she should have picked up my check. However, I believe that City Zen's Manager could have been very polite and diplomatic and told this one person, please tone it down a dinner guest from at least 30 yards complained. On my next visit to D.C., I will probably try the Ritz or the Four Seasons because of this. However, I will return to Sou Wester anytime. They were great.

great location but room for improvement
The facilities were visually fine, and the outdoor spaces provided a lovely escape. The staff was attentive.
The Premier Water View Room, while spacious, could benefit from updated furnishings.

Just a reliable pick for a quick weekend visit in Washington with best value. Room service was quick and delicious . Tip, consider calling instead of emailing for service to avoid delays.

The hotel is a class act as good if not better than the four seasons and close to the Raffle's hotel chain

We took our friends and business partners on a east coast vacation trip. Our last stop was the Mandarin Oriental. What a wonderful end to a great vacation!! We only wish we could have spent more time at your magnificent hotel. Everyone we had contact with were very cordial and accommodating. We will definitely return for a longer stay to see some of the sights we missed on this trip. We will also be staying at your great hotel. Thank you for all the wonderful service, till next time. I truly appreciate the ease with which we got the two smoking rooms adjoining each other, it was instrumental in choosing your hotel. Robert & Catherine Aganon

Perfect spot for a little getaway
Beautiful hotel, comfortable room, with a fine view of the city and the convenience of 24-hour room service for late-night snacks.

Very comfortable, the staff was great and very willing to make accommodations.
It's a little pricey, even for simple things like a pot of coffee in the morning.

Great location and nice sized suite with very. Pleasant and helpful staff. Pool was really nice.
Not worth the money when compared to all other 4 & 5 star hotels I have stayed with. They nickel and dime you for everything including Internet which these days is rediculous. They pleasantly park your car but never mentioned the $50/ day fee and our room was so loud from people partying all night I had to call to complain. All I this is acceptable for a budget hotel but not what I expect from a luxury establishment. I will not return to the mandarin anytime soon
